Like this elderly Chinese lady, I did a Buddhist prayer, praying for the rain and crappy weather to stop.

I was in Prague relatively soon after the collapse of communism. McDonalds was relatively new there. Now I hear that they've got a wal-mart out there now. Yay.

I think incense sticks smell different when you're in Asia. Maybe more genuine smelling. Or maybe that's because I'm travelling and not dealing with the pitfalls of everyday routine life, and I notice these things more. Ok then, I'm going to start smelling the flowers in my neighborhood more often.

Tango was born in the immigrant barrios of Buenos Aires. It started with immigrant men dancing with each other or prostitutes, longing for their loved ones back home.

Ever see City of God? There are dozens of these favelas throughout Rio de Janiero. You could be in a nice area one minute, and walk a block away and be in the middle of a favela. But I did find some incredible artists here. I would have picked up some artwork, but it was one of the first days of my year and a half away, that I didn't want to haul that stuff around the globe.

The Pere Lachaise cemetery is the final resting place of some well known dignitaries such as Marcel Proust, Oscar Wilde, and Camille Pissarro. But none are as famous as this one, Jim Morrison of the Doors. Arrows and graffiti point towards the gravestone when you enter, and a security guard is on hand at his grave due to vandalism

Saw Wes Anderson's Darjeeling Limited the other night. Made me nostalgic for India and made me want to go travelling again.....will the travel bug ever stop biting?

Happy Birthday to Jessie who turns 8 today. I would have given her a special treat, but she ate a rat in the park today which seemed to be sufficient enough.
In honor of Sir Edmund Hillary, who along with sherpa Tenzing Norgay, were the first men to reach the top of Mount Everest.
